I’m Juliette Handschuh

Hi, I’m Juliette Handschuh, the photographer behind Bindy Photography!

The name Bindy means so much to me. It comes from my Poppop, who was nicknamed Bindy Jr. after his father. He was a photographer too, and growing up, he captured so many portraits of me throughout the years. Some of my sweetest memories are sitting on his lap at his desk while he edited, watching him turn moments into photographs I could hold onto forever. Looking back, I think that is where my love for photography really began.

When I was 12, I got my first digital camera for my birthday and immediately started taking pictures of everything. I loved being able to freeze little moments in time. Years later, when I got my first iPhone Pro, that spark grew even more. I started doing mini photo sessions just for fun, and my very first maternity session was actually photographed and edited completely on my iPhone. Today, I shoot with my Sony cameras, but that same joy I felt with my first camera is still there every time I pick one up. I’m originally from New Jersey, spent some time living in Florida, and now call Virginia home with my husband and our cat, Kira.

Wedding photography has become such a special part of my heart. I love capturing the moments that make a wedding day feel alive — the happy tears, the big hugs, the quiet glances, the laughter, the little details, and all the joy in between. There is something so beautiful about creating photographs that couples and families can look back on, share, frame, and pass down for generations.

My hope is that every session feels relaxed, easy, and genuinely fun, like you’re spending time with a friend who just happens to have a camera. I care so much about getting to know the people I photograph because the best images happen when you feel comfortable, seen, and celebrated. My goal is to build a real connection with you, so when I show up for the big moments in your life, it feels less like hiring a photographer and more like celebrating with a friend.

One of my favorite parts of this work is getting to relive each day as I edit. Every image brings me back to the feeling of that moment, and I put so much care into each gallery from beginning to end. Every collection is hand culled and hand edited by me because I want your photos to feel personal, timeless, and full of life.

I keep my process intentional, thoughtful, and as hands-on as possible. I avoid AI use in my work, except in rare extreme cases where I may use local denoising software housed on my own PC. To me, your photos deserve a human touch, and my goal is always to create images that feel real, meaningful, and cherished for years to come.
